You know you grew up in the 80's.......

A friend of mine sent me the funniest email entitled "You know you grew up in the 80's....". I'm sure some of you have seen it, but if not here's a little preview:

L.A. Gear... need I say more.
You wanted to change your name to "JEM " in Kindergarten. (She's truly outrageous)
You remember reading "Tales of a fourth grade nothing " and all the Ramona books.
You know the profound meaning of "WAX ON, WAX OFF".
You wanted to be a Goonie.
You ever wore fluorescent clothing. (some of us... head-to-toe)
You can remember what Michael Jackson looked like before his nose fell off and his cheeks shifted.
You have ever pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.
You took lunch boxes to school... and traded Garbage Pail Kids in the schoolyard.
You remember the CRAZE, then the BANNING of slap bracelets.
You still get the urge to say "NOT " after every sentence.
You remember Hypercolor t-shirts.
Barbie and the Rockers was your favorite band.
You thought She-ra (Princess of Power!) and He-Man should hookup.
You thought your childhood friends would never leave because you exchanged handmade friendship bracelets.
You ever owned a pair of Jelly-Shoes. (and like #24, probably in neon colors, too)

Yeah, all of those applied to me in some way, specifically the jelly shoes and LA Gear. I lived on a gravel road, but insisted on wearing my jelly shoes every day of the summer, even though they slipped off my bike pedal and heels filled with rocks. And my LA Gears with the fat laces?? Loved them.

Now guess what?? http://www.iknowshoes.com/ will have all of those blasts from the past for you to buy! And coordinating flourescent accessories. I can't promise hypercolor shirts, but might be able to find a way to throw in some No Fear t-shirts. And definitely socks that scrunch ALL the way down over your leggings. But no slap bracelets- my house would be a war zone with 4 kids and an arsenol of slap bracelets.

What else do you want to see besides those blasts from the past. I can think of hundreds of oldies but goodies- can you? Let us know and we'll search for them for you and you can buy them from us in just a month or two!!!

It's Official!!!!!!

After several months of planning and anticipation www.iknowshoes.com is in its final stages! We have met with our web designer, approved the first draft of the logo, and created countless relationships with shoe and apparel sellers. www.iknowshoes.com will be the largest online shoe retailer available featuring every kind of shoe and matching accessory that you can imagine.

We are so excited! We started brainstorming about a year ago how we can "move forward". That is our family motto and one of our biggest focuses. We have 4 children, one on the way, sales backgrounds, and a strong desire to work for ourselves (and at home!). Oh and an unprecedented love of shoes and everything that goes with it. My husband varies between work chic and the clean white tennies look. I started with very high heels, had a couple of kids and graduated to mid-sized heels, and now pregnant- am thrilled that ballet flats are in style!

And for any parents out there don't worry- www.iknowshoes.com will have tons of kids shoes to choose from. Our kids go through shoes like juice boxes- put em on, use em up, and toss em to the side! We strive to build relationships with shoe companies that offer stylish, practical, and sturdy shoes for kids. We've already found a few companies that offer just that- and in approximately 2 months you can order shoes from them on www.iknowshoes.com!!

This blog is a way to keep in touch with all the shoe lovers out there- we're on facebook, we're on myspace, figuring out the twitter thing, and now we're blogging! We want to know what kinds of shoes you are looking for? What kind of shoes you can't pass up when you walk by? what are your favorite brands? Where do you LOVE shopping for shoes? We can handle as much feedback as you can give us!

We are so happy that we are moving forward with this project and can't wait to hear from you!
